Human–AI Teaming
How trust, communication, common ground, and role adaptation shape human–AI team performance.
Safety, Human factors, And Resilience Engineering (SHARE) Lab
I am a faculty member in Industrial, Manufacturing, and Systems Engineering at Texas Tech University. My research examines how people understand, coordinate with, and adapt to complex technologies in high-stakes environments.
My work connects human factors, cognitive systems engineering, safety science, and resilience engineering to improve human–AI teaming, emergency response, healthcare, and industrial operations.

How trust, communication, common ground, and role adaptation shape human–AI team performance.
How people perceive information, make decisions, coordinate, and maintain situation awareness.
How organizations anticipate, absorb, adapt to, and recover from disruptions and emergencies.
Selected projects
Investigating how people work with generative AI during first-aid and emergency-response tasks.
Examining how spatial and hazard information influences tactics, awareness, and performance.
Identifying cognitive challenges in electronic health records and designing safer interfaces.
